Zapa: Market Strategy and Advice on Banking and Payments Regulation

Zapa is a leading European provider of contactless payments and loyalty solutions. The company required advise on strategic options for growth, product offerings, risk assessment and banking regulation consultancy.

Background

Zapa’s Chief Executive wanted to understand the dynamics of a new market segment to determine the best point of entry. Having provided banking technology advisory services to him in previous ventures, Bayberry was selected to undertake the analysis.

During early discussions, it was also established that Zapa needed advice on banking and payments regulation compliance to support the expansion of its existing service offering.

Our Approach

We set about identifying the needs of the market, summarising existing technology and service providers, and recommending propositions that would appeal to buyers.

We completed an analysis of the company’s processes and future requirements. Following this we provided recommendations and support for regulatory compliance with e-money and payment services regulation.

Outcome

Zapa successfully implemented our recommendations. The company’s new services are compliant with e-money and payment services
